OUR STORY

In 2017, HEST was founded with a simple mission: to revolutionize comfort and sleep in the outdoors.

It All Started with a Better Night’s Sleep…Outdoors….

HEST is built on a passion for the outdoors and a drive to reimagine comfort wherever you roam. The story began with the pursuit of a better night’s sleep outdoors. Traditional outdoor gear favors keeping it light and packable, much at the cost of comfort. HEST set out on a new path, pioneering the comforts of home into portable, adventure-ready forms to better enjoy time spent outdoors.

Maximize Comfort During the Moment that Matter the Most

At HEST, we believe spending time outdoors should feel as restorative as it is inspiring. Whether you're camping, overlanding, road-tripping or chasing the next horizon, we want to bring the comfort of home to every adventure. That’s why every product is engineered to maximize comfort during the moments that matter most— the laughter around the fire, the ease of slowing down in nature, the deep sleep that comes after a day outside. Because those restful moments are what recharge you for the adventures yet to come.

Why Comfort Outdoors Matters

Yes, being uncomfortable outdoors is part of the adventure. But, it can also hinder so many people from experiencing the wonders of the natural world. Whether it’s a bad night of sleep, waking up stiff and sore, experiencing a numb butt sitting around the campfire or never truly relaxing in nature because comfort is compromised by gear being light and packable. HEST wanted to fix this and enable more people to enjoy the outdoors. After years of researching pain points, geeking out on materials and understanding the gap between home comfort and the shortcomings of outdoor gear, HEST is committed to building a line of products that takes the comforts of our home into portable, adventure-ready forms to better enjoy time spent outdoors.

Our Pride And Joy

why the name hest?

The name HEST derives from Hestia, the ancient Greek goddess of the family hearth & home. Just like Hestia, HEST represents comfort, hygge, and that cozy feeling you get when spending quality time with the people you love most. Bringing the comforts of home along on adventures was the founding idea behind HEST. We think camping should be just as comfortable as a night in your own home.
